Joshua is a historical bridge between the years of Israel’s wanderings in the desert and their settling down in the land that God has promised to them. The book of Joshua describes a high point in the life of Israel as the covenant people of God. Even with setbacks, this book presents a hopeful beginning with amazing demonstrations of God’s power and presence among His people. Christ followers today can learn from the ancient stories of God's people and be encouraged as they see a God who keeps his promises, accomplishes his purposes, and cares for those who put their trust in Him.
