We strive to help students to connect with God and friends, grow in Christ, make wise choices & serve our church and community. We are also here to partner with families on this journey. We provide a variety of entry points because it takes more than one activity to be spiritually healthy. Join us as we disciple the students God has entrusted to our ministry.
We Partner With Parents
No one can influence the heart of a student better than parents! We believe that our influence in a student’s life is maximized when we partner with families. Because of this, we provide cues for parents and teens to have discussions with one another about what’s being learned in each series. Also, we desire to be a resource for and a champion of our parents. We want to strengthen the student/parent relationship by ministering to both the student and parent, simultaneously.
Our goal is to provide quality ministry to students (grades 6-12). We want every student to feel safe and accepted in a fun, Christ-centered environment. The church can only be partially effective without the partnership of parents. If you are a parent of a student, please connect with us to help your student grow in their trust and love of Jesus.
Each Sunday, we have regular ministry that occurs for our students. This schedule should give you an idea of how we engage students.
10:45am - 678 Service
This service and small group time is for grades 6-8 and is located in the Student Center.
Location: Student Center
Wednesdays (Starting August 15, 2018)
6:45pm - Youth Service
This service is a time for students (grades 7-12) to gather for student led worship, biblical teaching, small group experience, prayer and an occasional game!
Location: Student Center
Our goal is to move students beyond information towards a relational encounter with God through worship, large group and small group experiences.
Each month we discuss topical series focused on: the wonder of who God is; the discovery of who you are; how you relate to God; and the passion that we should have for one another. Each series is timed to the rhythms of a student’s school year, and highlights one, two, or all three of these experiences helping students engage God in a large group/small group format.
Our Youth Services are designed to leave middle school and high school teens with the lasting understanding that they:
Are created to pursue an authentic relationship with their Creator
Belong to Jesus Christ and define who they are by what Jesus says
Exist every day to demonstrate God’s love to a broken world
Small Group in Every Service
We believe that a small group is a reliable and trustworthy environment to develop an understanding and love of the Gospel with peers and adult leaders. This context is a safe place for students to work through difficult questions and ideas. Each leader encourages students to continue to internalize the truth discussed through a variety of activities including but not limited to: scripture memory, devotionals and service.
Why is it important that my student be involved in ministry?
For teenagers to feel significant, they need to be given something significant to do. Ideas are provided in the context of a series that encourages students to participate in the lives of others. These ideas range from helping families in the church or other students in their small group, to participating in a global movement helping kids around the world. The goal is to motivate teenagers to be the church and not just attend church.
Our Connection Groups are for both junior and senior high students. These groups meet in the homes of students (by grade and gender). We value authentic relationships and this is a great time for students to grow relationally in a smaller context.
Every summer for one week we travel out of the valley with hundreds of students around the state to sing songs of praise to God, hear fantastic speakers, and draw closer to God. This has the potential to be one of the most impactful moments in a student’s life. The story of our lead pastor, Rick Thiemke, shares of how Christ revealed Himself to him through an experience at a summer camp when he was a young boy.
Youth Convention is a fall event where we join other groups of students from around the state of Arizona to worship God, grow in our passion for His Word and have great fun connecting with our students and others from our state.
For our Winter Retreat, we spend three nights at a place where we could experience snow together! The retreat is held over student winter break. This is a great time for us to grow together in Christ as a community of students and leaders. We value our time together and this retreat provides us with moments of worship, messages, bonfires, games and more!
Between our regular events; we host opportunities for all students to come out and enjoy time together. We encourage students to invite friends; parents are always welcome, too! Some examples of these events would be: Snow Day, Fireworks in Payson (Fourth of July), games days in the park, and many more!
