As you plan a visit to Via Church, we would like to help you know what to expect when visiting our campus and attending a service.

What should I wear?

You will experience a variety of styles of dress. Some come in shorts, some wear a tie. You are welcome to come as you are. Our pastoral staff usually wears jeans and a button up shirt (just to give you an idea).

First Time Visitor Parking

If you are joining us for the first time, please check our north parking lot for our visitor parking. These spaces are located in the center section directly in front of the Chapel building.

Additional Parking

We have two main parking lots. The north lot is a smaller parking lot and is located directly next to our campus. This will typically fill up first and traffic will then be directed to our south lot. The south lot is located directly south of our campus on Power Road and Dallas Road.

On Sundays, our north lot typically fills up rather quickly. Due to this, we run carts back and forth from our south lot to our main campus. If you park in the south lot, a cart may come to your car to pick you up. If this doesn't happen, then you can wait by the tent located in the far northeast corner of the lot and a cart will come by shortly. They can seat up to five people (plus the driver) at a time.

If you have children, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of the service, so you can check-in your children to their service and/or class. Our nurseries (infants - toddlers) are located off the lobby of the Auditorium. Our preschool area (2 years - 5 years) is in just down the stairs off our Café. The Kid's Auditorium is where you will bring your elementary age children (K - 5th).

If you have questions while on campus, find someone with a blue name tag to ask for assistance. We would love to help you get connected here in a greater way!

Our services are a time for us to gather as a church and worship God.

Sing Praise Songs

The largest book of the Bible is Psalms, which is a compilation of songs that God's People sang thousands of years ago. This tells us that singing songs to God is a great way to express our thoughts about God to Him and to ourselves.

Open the Bible

Our church is centered on the truth that Jesus is the only way to God. Our name Via Church stems from the verse John 14:6, where Jesus says: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life". The Bible is the story of God and is our rule of faith and conduct. Our services are very intentionally driven by Scripture.

Hear a Message

Another aspect of our services is a message that is usually a part of a larger series (a series is simply a series of message that center around a theme or book of the Bible).

Other Service Elements

As you attend our services, there are additional elements that you will experience from week to week.

Also called The Lord's Supper or Eucharist

This is a ordinance/sacrament (a very unique and special practice) of the Church around the world and our church in particular. This is when every person who is a Christ-follower takes bread and a cup to follow the instructions of Jesus himself when he told his disciples, "Do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19 ESV) We follow in his example and instruction in this manner. We take communion together regularly as a church during various services each month.

This is another ordinance/sacrament of the Church. We believe in baptism by immersion in water, because this is what the original word refers to. When someone is baptized, they are stating two primary things:

  1. Their identity is with Christ
  2. They want to obey his commands

This is a very special moment for parents to bring their children before the church and have them dedicated to God. What a parent is stating during this act is that they are going to seek to lead their families to know, love and trust Jesus and they want the church to hold them to account for this decision. We as a church also want to come around parents who are dedicating their children to God.

During a point in our service, there will be buckets passed down each row. This time is an opportunity for people to give their tithe (simply means 10% of their income), offering (giving above the 10% tithe) and also any other gift they wish to offer to God through this local expression of His Church.

We place a high value on relationships. This is the first step in the process of getting to us and us getting to know you. There will be a sign-in sheet that will come down your row. During this time, we ask that you simply write your name and information on the sheet (if this is your first visit). Also, if you regularly attend, this sheet can serve as an information update for you if you move to a different address, change phone numbers, etc.

Our services are usually around 80 minutes in length. This time fluctuates by about 5 - 10 minutes each week.
