But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

- Galatians 5:22-23 -

Dear Via Family,

We have been talking a lot lately about law-reliance and law-obeying. We are being shaped by Galatians and learning to joyfully obey out of gratitude for the free grace given us. I read this question the other day, “Is God glorified and exalted when we are merely trembling before Him and obeying out of fear or when we are filled with joy as we delight in living according to His commands?”

There are some BIG things coming up at Via!

This Sunday

Reading Galatians 5:16-26 before Sunday will allow the gospel to have a greater impact on your life as we worship this Sunday. Come expecting the Holy Spirit to work among us!

Being A Blessing: Trunk or Treat

I hope that you are planning on attending and maybe serving our annual Trunk or Treat this year. We love our community and each year we get to put that love on display with this event. We open our campus up to our community by giving out candy from the decorated trunks of our cars, sharing a meal and snacks together, and playing games. This is a fun event on our campus with many opportunities to serve. You can give to this event by donating candy. Please drop bags of candy into the buckets marked in the lobby of the auditorium.

Saturday, October 28 | 6 - 8pm | Via Church

Lastly, in light of Galatians, I encourage you to befriend people that are far from God. Talk with people. Engage in dialogue. Introduce people to Jesus.

It’s all about Jesus,
Rick
