“Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.” Isaiah 53:10

Dear Via Family,

The days of December are flying by and the countdown to Christmas is ticking away! I pray that the richness of the joy of Christ be evident in your heart as you make your preparations.

In the hustle of Christmas I remind you that Jesus is our Joy!  Jesus told His disciples in John 15:11, “that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” As your pastor, I pray that for you!

I need you to know a few things as we head into the weekend.

This Weekend
This weekend is the fourth weekend of Advent. We will focus on the joy that comes from knowing God’s amazing love. Our text is Isaiah 53:10. It would be great if you read the entire chapter before coming to worship. Invite friends to come to church with you!

Advent Giving Update
Each week of the four weekends of Advent, we have invited you to give to specific needs that will help our faith community and the greater community.  These are great investments and you will be helping to accomplish our mission at Via Church, “Reflecting the hope of Christ so others can do the same”. Thank you for your generous participation!  Here is an update on your generosity:

Last Sunday
Stockings and gifts lined the platform in our auditorium as you blessed over 240 families in both our Via family as well as our greater community. You were so generous - thank you! It means so much to so many. There are tears and very grateful hearts as these gifts are distributed.

This Sunday
Please prepare to give generously to your church. Did you know that when you give to Via Church that you are helping your Via family when they fall on hard times? On a regular basis, Via helps congregants in extenuating circumstances to pay things like a mortgage or rent bill, utilities, a car payment, crisis counseling, and other necessities? A portion of every dollar that you give to Via participates in this area of mission fulfillment at Via Church. Let’s generously supply our church to do this and so much more as we give this weekend!

Holiday Schedule
Via Church will be having three identical Christmas Eve services this year: 3:00pm, 4:15pm and 5:30pm. These services will be one hour in length. Childcare will not be provided, however, our Family Room and Mothers’ rooms will be open. Use the invitations in your bulletin and invite your family, neighbors, friends, and coworkers to join you!

Please note that on Sunday, December 25 we will gather to worship at 10AM. Be sure to make this a part of your Christmas morning celebration. For the entire holiday schedule, including kid’s and youth schedules, click below for all the information you need:
