Lent (Third Sunday)

Lent (Third Sunday)

The word Lent can invoke a number of thoughts, questions and feelings, depending on your background with the Church. Wherever one is coming from, we want each of us to be able to understand it through the lens of the one true story of the Bible. In a culture inundated with individualism and consumerism, with rhythms and practices that turn our desires toward the things we think we need, Lent turns our desires toward Jesus, the only thing we truly need, helping us trade lesser loves for His greater love. We invite you to join us for a night of learning more about this season on the Christian calendar and giving very tangible ways to participate.

Sunday, February 17 @ 6pm
These nights are designed for everyone from 7th grade through adults. On these nights our kids get together for the Big Story Night in our Kids Auditorium.

Via Youth Serve Day

Via Youth Serve Day

We have found that students want to extend God's peace to the least, the last and the lost. They just have a few reasons as to why they haven't.

- They like to hang out with friends
- They feel they don't have enough time
- They don't know how to get started

During MLK Day, we are helping students overcome those obstacles, get involved in serving our city & community and have a great time with friends! We have a great morning and afternoon planned! Students should meet at Via Church at 9:30am. We'll begin our morning with some service projects at Hope Women's Center. Here's a link to their website:

https://www.hopewomenscenter.org/

We'll stop for lunch and some hang out time on our way back to Via Church. Please bring spending money for fast food.Students will be ready to be picked up from Via Church at 1:30pm.

If your student has not attended an off-site event with Via Youth yet, you will need to complete and submit our 2019 Minor Permission Form. You will find instructions on printing the form at the end of this registration and confirmation. Thank you!

Better Together (Third Sunday)

Being intergenerational is a core value at Via. We believe that we are called to pass on faith to the next generation, and yet our society has structured our lives to separate the generations in many ways, from 55 plus communities to a culture that idolizes the teen years. The church is called to be an alternative community that brings the generations together in worship, mutual learning and support. Due to the breakup of the multigenerational family structure over the last many decades, this does not happen without intentional focus. Join us for a night of intergenerational activity for a deeper spiritual purpose.

“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”
-Psalm 145:4

Welcoming the Stranger (Third Sunday)

What does faithfulness look like as we consider the massive global migration taking place right now? How are we to pray and think about immigration in our city and nation? Join us on this night for an open dialogue about immigration and the biblical Story. We have invited Mary Kaech (Phoenix Refugee Connections) and Leisa McDonald (East Valley Refugee Coalition) to speak to us concerning this topic and to challenge us to faithfully press into this as a church. We are also going to be able to hear the experience of a refugee on this night. Come to learn about this topic in light of the biblical Story!Sunday,

Team Meeting (Trunk or Treat )

Team Meeting (Trunk or Treat )

We love our community and each year we get to put that love on display through an event called "Trunk or Treat." We open our campus up to our community by giving out candy from the decorated trunks of our cars, sharing a meal and snacks together, and playing games. This is a fun event on our campus with many opportunities to serve.

DONATE
You can give to this event by donating candy. Please drop bags of candy into the buckets marked in the lobby of the auditorium.

SERVE
This event wouldn't exist without the many people who serve in various capacities. If you are interested in serving this event, there are lots of ways to get involved (food, inflatables, games, candy delivery, etc.)

DECORATE YOUR TRUNK
One hallmark feature of this event is the decorated trunks each year. Park your car, decorate your trunk and hand out candy to kids! It's super easy! We can help you come up with decorating ideas too. If you would like to request to have a spot for this year's Trunk or Treat register here to reserve your space.

I want to sign up and serve!
