“For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. ”
Galatians 1:13

Dear Via Family,

We all have a story. Our stories contain many stories that make up our story. Have you thought about your story? What are the moments that have shaped your life? Paul refers to a “former life”. This isn’t a reference to reincarnation. There are two polar opposite lives that Paul lived. His life before his conversion on the road to Damascus (Acts 9) and His life after. He was absolutely changed by the power of the gospel story. That reality for Paul is still available today. There is an offer on the table to everyone everywhere - to be changed by gospel.

This Sunday

This Sunday I will teach the second week of our series called Rewiring The Heart. We will be going through the book of Galatians. This letter from Paul to the churches in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) will lay out the gospel story plainly and powerfully. I challenge you to read through Galatians a number of times throughout this series. This week our text will be Galatians 1:10-24. It is a perfect week to invite a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member!

Third Sunday - The True Story

I am so hoping that you will join Susan and me and many others this Sunday night in the Chapel at 6pm. Brian Berger, Pastor of Communities at Redemption church and a good friend of Via’s, will share “The True Story” like you have never heard before. As he unpacks the all encompassing story that comes through the Bible, you will be equipped to better understand your Bible and bless others. I hope to see you there!

Via has some exciting momentum going on. I have been hearing these kinds of phrases from many of our leaders: “We have some wind in our sails.” “Via is really getting some traction in a number of areas.” “I love what I see happening recently in our church.” “We are really seeing some significant movement”. These things are buzzing around me. I feel so honored to be a part of what God is doing in our church. We celebrate the work of Jesus in our midst!

It’s all about Jesus,
Rick
