...Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father…”
Galatians 1:3-4

Dear Via Family,

I need to hear the gospel more today than ever. The simple gospel that was shared with me when I was in junior high is still impacting me and the Holy Spirit keeps applying its implications to every area of my life. I am not longing for a new or hidden truth. I am not thirsty for a self-help message to improve my life. Nor am I hungry for a modern new twist to the old story. I am starving to hear the gospel again and again and to see the world (past, present, and future) and my life through its lenses. The gospel is the one true story of the world. It is the story that shapes all other stories.

This Sunday

This Sunday I will teach the first part of our series called Rewiring The Heart. We will be going through the book of Galatians. This letter from Paul to the churches in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) will lay out the gospel story plainly and powerfully. I challenge you to read through Galatians a number of times throughout this series. This week our text will be Galatians 1:1-10. It is a perfect week to invite a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member!

School Supply Drive - Thanks!

Thank you for your incredible generosity by purchasing more school supplies than ever before!  28 large boxes of supplies will bless a local school and its students and families. Generosity like that reflects our generous God - way to go Via Church!

Many Things Are Starting Up

It is never a good idea to overlook communication from Via Church - but this time of the year it can be a real detriment to you and our community of faith. Please make sure that you are reading the bulletin, surfing our website, and reading special communications. There is a lot coming up this time of year - adult classes, Divorce Care, Grief Recovery, Kids Musical, etc. It is going to be an exciting time with lots of fruitful gatherings and scatterings. Don’t miss out!

As your pastor, I ask you to pray for Via regularly. Pray for the work that God has called us to in our corner of the world and our efforts across the globe. Lift up our congregation that we will be strong in the Lord and full of courage. Pray for our leaders. Thank you

It’s all about Jesus,
Rick
