The Lord said to Moses, "Depart; go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, 'To your offspring I will give it.'
Dear Via Family
As we do most Wednesdays, the pastors and staff had numerous meetings together yesterday. As I sat listening to report after report, I found myself wishing everyone in the church could have been listening in. Week after week I find myself surprised at just how much awesomeness happens both on and off our campus. There is a lot to be celebrated at Via Church! Here is a small sampling of just the past week:
Via Young Adults volunteered early this past Saturday morning at Helen’s Hope Chest.
A man who recently trusted Christ, brought his wife to join him at Celebrate Recovery.
Our Sunday night Via Kids program, Vroom, kicked off with a huge turnout (there is still time to join in!)
Over forty people came to the first night of Financial Peace University.
Via hosted a funeral and showed the love of Jesus and proclaimed the gospel.
A great group of folks came to an information meeting as they consider Surge School, a 32 week discipleship journey starting on August 4
A group of people finished Basecamp - a two-session class that will connect them to a Via Community.
Many Via Communities met at various locations for care, discipleship, fellowship, and to serve the greater community.
Our leadership had great conversations with people who came through our Welcome Mat after services.
About 30 youth completed registrations to attend youth camp next week.
At least 10 new people visited our services on Sunday for the first time and let us know that they were there.
We worshipped together and sensed God working powerfully among us as we looked at the propensity of our hearts to make idols (Exodus 32).
These things should make us all celebrate! Our many initiatives within our Hope Initiative are so vital to facilitating what God is doing at Via Church. We are all privileged to be a part of what God is doing among us and through us as a church.
Here are some things coming up…..
This Sunday we will wrap up our Exodus series that we began in January. If you have been reading through the entire book, read Exodus chapters 33-40. We will focus on Exodus 33:1-6 and Exodus 40:34-38. I cannot wait to teach this final lesson!
Water Donation Campaign
Please bring a case of water (or two) with you to church this Sunday. We are coming alongside the City of Mesa to help the homeless community stay hydrated by distributing water through various shelters in Mesa this summer. As you drive into the parking lot, look for the blue tent outside our youth building, pull up and one of our awesome Via youth will unload the water from your car. How cool is that?
I can’t wait to worship with you on Sunday!
It’s all about Jesus,
